Ultra Conservative

So I have been going thru the Dr Quinn Medicine Women Series again and I mentioned it tonight… this girl next to me said that she wasn’t allowed to watch it when it was on TV because it was too Liberal. WTF!? Really!?!? Now I grew up in a home and family that we had an approved programming list. But Dr. Quinn and other strong determined women were not vetoed for the reason that the main character was a strong, confident, smart, capable and brave woman who was willing to stand up for truth, righteousness, morals, values, and herself and never let ANYTHING keep her down. To block your children from watching good wholesome, encouraging programs, literature, or other exposures  like this does not help them but hinder them. Rights for women was progress in the world that we desperately needed! God created men and women to be equals in all things, partners and helpmates. I’m grateful to come from a long line of highly capable and wonderful women in this world who have made huge differences in the world around them. I’m grateful to have come from a family that taught me I could do and be anything that I wanted and that one person could make a difference.

it is our choice what kind of world we live in. we can suffer in the darkness or play in the light. we can be angry, frightened and enslaved, or loving, joyous and free.
