Review: Eragon

Eragon by Christopher Paolini
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really really enjoyed this book! I thought it was well written, great imagery and character sketches. The story flowed very well. I didn’t get lost or overwhelmed. It kept me engaged and obsessed the whole time! Glad I already have book 2 ready to go! There was always something new around every turn and the author took the time to give the necessary back story when needed. There was just the right amount of self-growth on Eragon’s part and action. Just really great! Highly recommend. The only thing that caught me really as a bit off was the last battle of the book. It kind of hit me from left field, like the author was going somewhere else, stopped then redirected, but it was ok. If I didn’t know there were a couple more books I would have been more upset at the edge I was left on. In comparission to other middle-earth type books aka Lord of the Rings (hated) I LOVED this!!!
