I think I need to read it again. I read it quick and was really distracted….

I’m ecstatic that Janet has a new series out and was excited to see this teaser. It’s obvious that the new series is going to be another fast moving and fun-filled series, with a classic Janet feel. Yet, it came across that Janet & Lee are still trying to find their groove. I’m just grateful it has more of a Stephanie, Diesel & Lizzy or her classic singles, instead of the Husband list. I’m excited to read it all, and I’ll read this one again too. It only took an hour…

At first I struggled with Janet’s attempt to branch out to other time periods and plots. I could definitely feel the influence of the Doreen Kelly, aka not Janet’s methods and styles. However after the first few chapters she found her groove and her characters and we had smooth sailing from that point on. It was a fun

little read and nice to have Janet but a different story line, even though her formula reins supreme. Fun read, glad she is branching out with other stories beside Stephanie, Joe & Ranger and Diesel and Lizzy. ๐Ÿ™‚

My rating: 0 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the little change in the plot adding in Hawaii and her even more ‘complicated’ status to her Morelli & Ranger relationships. The Hawaii part was a lot of fun since I was actually blessed with the opportunity to go to Hawaii this last spring! It also made me incredibly grateful that I didn’t have any major issues! Somehow I can see my life altering just slightly to be as chaotic as Stephanie’s and while I thoroughly enjoy her stories and life, I’m grateful it’s not mine! ๐Ÿ™‚ Only one more book to read until I’m waiting like the rest of the world. I’m not one that re-reads many books unless it’s over an expanse of like 10 years, however, I might have to make an exception so that I don’t go through complete withdrawals.

What can I say, I LOVE Stephanie, Joe, Ranger, Lula and Grandma!!!
I’ve been trying to space out reading them, but I generally miss my friends, but always welcome them back with such relief! I know it’s essentially the same stories with different variables, however they warm my heart and make me laugh. What more is needed? I just finished Stephanie Plum 17. I can’t believe there is only two more left until the release of the new book in November… not sure how I’m going to deal with this. I’ve read all of Janet’s books already… but I can’t seem to get enough! ๐Ÿ˜

This series just really makes me giggle. Its different from Stephanie Plum, barely. Magic and crazy characters that are surreal. But frankly, I really enjoy Cat, Carl and all the other supporting characters. When I think of the Lizzy & Diesel series, frankly, I giggle, I laugh, I chuckle and I plain out laugh hard. It’s not my favorite, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t completely enjoy it! This series like Stephanie Plum is very predictable but I still like it. I’m also very grateful that it helps fill my Janet Evanovich need in my life.

Review: Lean Mean Thirteen

Lean Mean Thirteen
Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3ย of 5 stars

Well Stephanie has once again provided much laughter, crazy scenarios and good old Mid-Atlantic culture and humor. ๐Ÿ™‚

Although, I found a lot of disconnects in this one… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ For instance, in book 12 we were left off with Stephanie working for Ranger, here she’s a Bounty Hunter again and there was no explanation of her transition. As well as a few others. It was annoying, but not hard to figure out. Another couple of things. She’s started referring to Ranger by his name Carlos Mendoza (I think that’s his name – I just translate in my head to “Ranger”) and all of a sudden she magically got over her issue and fear of saying “I Love You” to Morelli – without that momentous moment, and now continues to tell him regularly…

Other than that, I of course love Stephanie Plum and enjoy our adventures together. ๐Ÿ™‚ On to 14…

Review: Full Tilt

Full Tilt
Full Tilt by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I probably wouldn’t have read this as part of the continuing Full Series, if it hadn’t been for a couple things:
1) If I hadn’t already been on a quest to read all of Janet’s books
2) If my Aunt hadn’t told me how much she loved this series.

That being said, I also think I actually read this one once before about 5 or 6 years ago. As a random book that I found at the library before I really ‘discovered’ Janet Evanovich.

This book was MUCH better than the first book of the series!! MUCH!! You can tell how much Janet’s skills had developed over the years in-between the first and second book. I’m glad that I continued on with this series. It provided more smiles and giggles and something other than Bounty Hunting. I do like the path that she takes with this series as well. Although I complained that the first book was very corny I missed the presence of the two original characters in the first book. There were also some major disconnects and inconsistencies in the details. That was annoying, but I soon got over it (had to lol). Oh another thing, I didn’t like the whole two men scenario… My ex-husband had fidelity issues and so I tend to be sensitive to such things. Overall good book, fun and I’m excited for #3.

Review: Full House

Full House
Full House by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Hmmm. I’m a huge fan of Janet Evanovich. I’m currently working my way through her entire collection. Honestly, my favorites are the pre-Plums, which I noticed this was originally a pre-Plum, which is probably why I was semi-disappointed. In this particular story she continues with her predictable formula (which I like – it is simple I can listen while I work and it provides me with great laughter). I found this particular story too ‘convenient’ I enjoyed the characters and thought they were well developed but the story line and romance moved at an unrealistic timeline and speed. In addition it was on the super-corny side of things I had a difficult time swallowing things. In addition there where multiple disconnects and a few conflicting scenes. Overall I still liked it and enjoyed it. It also seems that this was close to the very first of the books that she wrote. It’s been fun to see how her writing has improved, developed and flourished through the years. ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: The Grand Finale

The Grand Finale
The Grand Finale by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

At this point we all know I love Janet Evanovich. This was again one of her pre-Plum romances. Honestly, I love them the most! They are all somewhat similar, and of course have formulas. But I don’t care. They are cute, witty, crazy little circumstances, always with a fun main character, sometimes ditsy, this one (Berri) wasn’t, and have a hunk of a man for them, with crazy supporting characters. You can definitely see the development of Stephanie Plum‘s character and story line, and supporting characters throughout these. It’s been fun to watch the development really. This was well written, there were a few disconnects though. In addition to a few times where you can see Janet started foreshadowing somethings and then changed her mind or forgot about them. I didn’t like how it ended. It was ok, but I wasn’t ready for this story to end and thought it could have had a stronger closing, this one just kind of left me hanging and saying, “Really? That was it!?”
I really found myself identifying with Berri, recently divorced from an un-loving, un-supporting, roommate type spouse and having to find her direction in life again. While Berri didn’t know where she was going or what she was doing before; I had. My difference was having to redirect my entire career, not just find one. Both she and I are working our tail ends off burning the candle at both ends and going to school (well I’m starting). All the while we still find all these opportunities to serve just because or part of our everyday actions even though we feel like we are going to burn out at any second. One thing that I noticed with Berri & Jake and the “Little Old Ladies” aka the supporting characters is that each of them were able to find love again, and relax about it! All of the love that they found actually came very quickly and easily. This is hard for me, I live in a society where everyone meets, dates, engaged and married within 3 months. I have a hard time believing that a healthy foundation can really be built in that time frame, or that you can even remotely know the person. Most of the hold back and difficulties in Berri & Jake’s relationship & romance came from Berri herself resisting it and trying not to allow love in her life, or anyone really close enough to her to throw her off her “Plan”. Sometimes life doesn’t work out the way we plan, but we have to remember that God always has a “Better Plan” for us, better than we can ever imagine, we just have to be willing to let his hand guide our lives….. in all things.

This was a breath of fresh air! I was so grateful to read another Stephanie Plum after reading a really long and heavy book! I enjoyed also that this Plum book had a much different plot than the others, I was also needing a change up. It was funny. It never ceases to amaze me how much Janet makes me laugh consistently! ๐Ÿ™‚

I really enjoyed it. I thought the style of this documentary was fabulous and well done. I appreciated how she would describe her style, and her formulas and then give an example. It was neat also getting a glimpse into Janet. I would highly recommend this for people curious about becoming a writer, she did a fabulous job explaining things realistically and being encouraging. I would also recommend this to J.E. fans in general it was neat to learn about Janet and learn more about where her characters, plots, experiences and the like came from. Great read!

How I LOVE Janet Evanovich. I know that I say that nearly ever review of her’s. But it is the truth! I loved this cute little story. I’d have to say it was one of my favorites of Janet’s. Her cute little love stories are about a guy falling in love with some quirky woman simply warm my heart. These women are fun and spunky! I have decided that one of the reason’s that I love her is because she gives me hope to love again and that just maybe their is some guy out there glutton for punishment that will adore me too…

I was glad to have this one standing by for when I finished Four to Score. Still loved it! There was an inconsistentancy that I found… when she got the BMW from Ranger… Totally missed that scene. Maybe I was the only one..? Other than that great. I’m not sure how I feel about the crazy twist at the end… I have VERY mixed feelings on this one… anxious to see how that plays out in Six… I also liked that Grandma was more of an active character again. I wish that there was more of the details of Stephanie and Morelli when they are on ‘good terms’.. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love Janet Evanovich! She is so funny and witty! I’m grateful that by book four she went back to her writing style more than her co-authors style. I know she uses formula’s to write. But it works. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also I was grateful to have CJ Critt back reading. ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: One For The Money

One For The Money
One For The Money by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Just finished book 3 of the Stephanie Plum Series… I was hesitant at writing a review on this one at first simply because I didn’t know what to think. I liked the plot, story, heroine, all character sketches were great. What I didn’t like or expect was the extreme change of feel from Janet’s other books. Nonetheless I still liked it. I really like Stephanie I think she is funny. I was grateful to be able to move immediately on to the 2nd & 3rd books. I definitly enjoy the slower pace and the big picture story, and I love her characters. I have read most of her previous screwball romances… They were fun light hearted, encouraging and witty. Stephanie Plum has a VERY different feel about the whole thing! I thought it was just book 1, nope. I like it. I was surprise and disappointed by the additional swearing and details of certain things. Totally took me for a shock that its not as clean as all of her others. I like it, just not as much. I really like her character sketches and the flow as always. I enjoy that Janet has kept the screwball and funniness of her characters and story line. I just haven’t care for the new edge it has. I’m from Philly, I know Trenton isn’t an easy town… but I think there are a few details that could have gone without in this and the last book such as there was a mess on a her door once and a few other things…However, this movie is coming out this Friday I would love to go see it. Would anyone like to come with me? In the Greater Salt Lake area. 16 Jan 2012

Ok, I just saw the movie. Honestly I loved it! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was glad to see that they took out the scene where the boxer/fighter guy (forgot his name) desecration her door. I was REALLY happy to see that unnecessary scene gone. Although they should have put something else that he had threatened her at home. That would have made a little more sense too when Morelli caught her later.. But overall I think they did a great job and reignited my Plum fire… I need to go to the library and get #4 since its not available on Overdrive… ๐Ÿ™‚ 17 June 2012
