Review: Lean Mean Thirteen

Well Stephanie has once again provided much laughter, crazy scenarios and good old Mid-Atlantic culture and humor. ๐Ÿ™‚

Although, I found a lot of disconnects in this one… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ For instance, in book 12 we were left off with Stephanie working for Ranger, here she’s a Bounty Hunter again and there was no explanation of her transition. As well as a few others. It was annoying, but not hard to figure out. Another couple of things. She’s started referring to Ranger by his name Carlos Mendoza (I think that’s his name – I just translate in my head to “Ranger”) and all of a sudden she magically got over her issue and fear of saying “I Love You” to Morelli – without that momentous moment, and now continues to tell him regularly…

Other than that, I of course love Stephanie Plum and enjoy our adventures together. ๐Ÿ™‚ On to 14…

Review: Full Tilt

Full Tilt
Full Tilt by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I probably wouldn’t have read this as part of the continuing Full Series, if it hadn’t been for a couple things:
1) If I hadn’t already been on a quest to read all of Janet’s books
2) If my Aunt hadn’t told me how much she loved this series.

That being said, I also think I actually read this one once before about 5 or 6 years ago. As a random book that I found at the library before I really ‘discovered’ Janet Evanovich.

This book was MUCH better than the first book of the series!! MUCH!! You can tell how much Janet’s skills had developed over the years in-between the first and second book. I’m glad that I continued on with this series. It provided more smiles and giggles and something other than Bounty Hunting. I do like the path that she takes with this series as well. Although I complained that the first book was very corny I missed the presence of the two original characters in the first book. There were also some major disconnects and inconsistencies in the details. That was annoying, but I soon got over it (had to lol). Oh another thing, I didn’t like the whole two men scenario… My ex-husband had fidelity issues and so I tend to be sensitive to such things. Overall good book, fun and I’m excited for #3.

Review: Full House

Full House
Full House by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Hmmm. I’m a huge fan of Janet Evanovich. I’m currently working my way through her entire collection. Honestly, my favorites are the pre-Plums, which I noticed this was originally a pre-Plum, which is probably why I was semi-disappointed. In this particular story she continues with her predictable formula (which I like – it is simple I can listen while I work and it provides me with great laughter). I found this particular story too ‘convenient’ I enjoyed the characters and thought they were well developed but the story line and romance moved at an unrealistic timeline and speed. In addition it was on the super-corny side of things I had a difficult time swallowing things. In addition there where multiple disconnects and a few conflicting scenes. Overall I still liked it and enjoyed it. It also seems that this was close to the very first of the books that she wrote. It’s been fun to see how her writing has improved, developed and flourished through the years. ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: High Five

High Five
High Five by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

I was glad to have this one standing by for when I finished Four to Score. Still loved it! There was an inconsistentancy that I found… when she got the BMW from Ranger… Totally missed that scene. Maybe I was the only one..? Other than that great. I’m not sure how I feel about the crazy twist at the end… I have VERY mixed feelings on this one… anxious to see how that plays out in Six… I also liked that Grandma was more of an active character again. I wish that there was more of the details of Stephanie and Morelli when they are on ‘good terms’.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: One For The Money

One For The Money
One For The Money by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Just finished book 3 of the Stephanie Plum Series… I was hesitant at writing a review on this one at first simply because I didn’t know what to think. I liked the plot, story, heroine, all character sketches were great. What I didn’t like or expect was the extreme change of feel from Janet’s other books. Nonetheless I still liked it. I really like Stephanie I think she is funny. I was grateful to be able to move immediately on to the 2nd & 3rd books. I definitly enjoy the slower pace and the big picture story, and I love her characters. I have read most of her previous screwball romances… They were fun light hearted, encouraging and witty. Stephanie Plum has a VERY different feel about the whole thing! I thought it was just book 1, nope. I like it. I was surprise and disappointed by the additional swearing and details of certain things. Totally took me for a shock that its not as clean as all of her others. I like it, just not as much. I really like her character sketches and the flow as always. I enjoy that Janet has kept the screwball and funniness of her characters and story line. I just haven’t care for the new edge it has. I’m from Philly, I know Trenton isn’t an easy town… but I think there are a few details that could have gone without in this and the last book such as there was a mess on a her door once and a few other things…However, this movie is coming out this Friday I would love to go see it. Would anyone like to come with me? In the Greater Salt Lake area. 16 Jan 2012

Ok, I just saw the movie. Honestly I loved it! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was glad to see that they took out the scene where the boxer/fighter guy (forgot his name) desecration her door. I was REALLY happy to see that unnecessary scene gone. Although they should have put something else that he had threatened her at home. That would have made a little more sense too when Morelli caught her later.. But overall I think they did a great job and reignited my Plum fire… I need to go to the library and get #4 since its not available on Overdrive… ๐Ÿ™‚ 17 June 2012
